We’re looking for a dedicated Surveying Assistant to join our growing team. Preference will be given to qualified Indigenous applicants, in line with our commitment to community support and empowerment.
The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, eager to learn, and comfortable working in a dynamic, hands-on environment.
Responsibilities
Support the Lead Surveyor in conducting various land surveys, including topographical, boundary, and legal surveys
Assist with the setup and operation of surveying equipment such as total stations, GPS units, and level instruments
Collect, document, and process field data accurately
Research land records and past surveys as needed
Perform basic calculations under supervision
Maintain equipment and vehicles in clean, working condition
Engage respectfully and professionally with community members, with cultural awareness
Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent; relevant coursework or certifications are an asset
Experience in surveying is preferred but not required — training will be provided
Basic math and measurement skills
Ability to work outdoors in a range of weather conditions
Strong attention to detail and good organizational habits
Valid driver’s license
A respectful understanding of Indigenous cultural practices and values
We are seeking a Draftsperson to join our team. The successful candidate will work closely with our senior team and field staff to process survey data and produce accurate, high-quality drawings using AutoCAD and AutoCAD Civil 3D.
This is a great opportunity for someone with strong drafting skills who enjoys collaborative, purpose-driven work in a growing, community-oriented environment.

Responsibilities
Create and complete survey drawings using AutoCAD and AutoCAD Civil 3D
Process topographic survey data for design and drafting
Assist in the preparation of technical reports and documentation
Liaise with senior staff and field teams to ensure accuracy and efficiency
Attend project meetings and coordinate with team members to ensure timely delivery of project deliverables
Required Knowledge & Experience
Minimum 2 years of drafting experience in a related role
Strong proficiency with AutoCAD software (Civil 3D preferred)
Post-secondary education in Civil Engineering Technology, Surveying, or a related field (preferred)
Solid understanding of surveying principles and the land development process
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and other relevant software

Monument-Urso Surveying is seeking an experienced Survey Technician to join our growing team. In this role, you will lead a field crew in performing a variety of land surveying tasks, including boundary, topographic, and construction surveys.

Responsibilities
Lead a field crew in conducting boundary, topographic, and construction surveys
Operate a variety of surveying instruments and equipment, including total stations, GPS units, and levels
Ensure the accuracy and quality of collected survey data and documentation
Analyze and interpret field data to assist in preparing detailed and accurate survey reports
Maintain effective communication with clients, project managers, and team members to ensure successful project delivery
Follow all safety protocols and site regulations during fieldwork
Qualifications
Minimum 5 years of experience as a Survey Party Chief or in a similar role
Strong understanding of surveying principles, practices, and procedures
Proficient in using total stations, GPS, and levels
Experience with AutoCAD and other survey-related software
Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to job sites as required
Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions and various terrains
Strong work ethic and commitment to precision and quality work
